I bought this book at Half Price Books not knowing it was a textbook. I read it for two hours straight, I was and then engrossed, and and so I realized it was indeed a textbook. That existence said, this book has revolutionized the way I think nigh communication and my own thoughts. It's beautifully laid out, and while it can seem boring at times, information technology really walks you through how to finer maintain advice in any kind of relationship- piece of work, friends, romantic, etc. The discussions are fact and res I bought this book at One-half Price Books not knowing information technology was a textbook. I read it for two hours straight, I was so engrossed, and so I realized information technology was indeed a textbook. That being said, this book has revolutionized the way I recall well-nigh communication and my own thoughts. It's beautifully laid out, and while it tin seem boring at times, it really walks you through how to finer maintain communication in whatever kind of relationship- work, friends, romantic, etc. The discussions are fact and inquiry based, used artfully alongside real life examples; information technology truly is a mix of both "art and scientific discipline" (as the title suggests). I truly think the world would be a more beautiful, thoughtful, and caring place if we all took a note or two from all the ideas mentioned in this book. ...more

About as unexciting (while using informal, peppy language to try and SEEM exciting) as most school textbooks.

I love this volume! I bought this for an Intro to Human Relations class (upper partitioning at a four yr academy). The book is appropriate for an intro course: All the bases are covered, in merely plenty detail. There is a lot of great, basic data in here. Nearly every theory and idea explained in the book has a relatable instance. It's written in a VERY accessible mode, without feeling similar the author is talking downward to you. I think anyone from loftier school (even middle schoolhouse?) could read this an I dearest this book! I bought this for an Intro to Human Relations form (upper sectionalization at a 4 year academy). The volume is appropriate for an intro course: All the bases are covered, in simply enough detail. There is a lot of slap-up, basic data in here. Nearly every theory and idea explained in the volume has a relatable example. It's written in a VERY accessible way, without feeling like the author is talking downwards to yous. I remember anyone from high school (even middle school?) could read this and savour it.
This volume was definitely the best office of the class! After the class I didn't sell the book back, and I nonetheless open it up from time to fourth dimension, and used it as a reference source for other courses. ...more than
